Mid-term Elections: Who Will Control Congress?
07.21.06 (7:18 am)   [edit]

Republicans are in jeopardy of losing their grip on Congress in November. With less than four months to the midterm elections, the latest Associated Press poll found that Americans by an almost 3-to-1 margin hold the GOP-controlled Congress in low regard and profess a desire to see Democrats wrest control after a dozen years of Republican rule.  Further complicating the GOP outlook to turn things around is a solid percentage of liberals, moderates, and even conservatives who say they'll vote Democratic.

Well well well what can I say? I guess I under-estimated the American public. Americans are finally realizing that there is a problem with Senate and the House and are actually willing to do something about it.

I know this is only a poll but I do think it will hold true at midterm elections. I do think that the Democrats will take over the majority of one or more assemblies. In order to seize control of Congress, the Democrats must replace 15 Republicans from House seats and only 6 Republicans from the Senate. Change needs to happen folks, and I sure hope it starts with the Senate then up to the House. I would love to see it go all the way to the presidency in 2008. I guess only time will tell.

Just have to say it...

It REALLY irks me that most Americans don't even know that there are more than 2 parties.

No child left behind, right?

grrrrrr

Yeah you are right but come on. Some of the other parties are a little out there don't you agree? The Neo-nazi Party, Green Party, Socialist Party, Reform Party, Libertarian Party; they even have the Marijuana Party. I just don't see any of these rising up and getting into power any time soon.

Dude, with all due respect, I'm going down FAST from an incurable disease.

I don't care what part is in power, all I know is that Bush just vetoed my right to live.

I like your insight into things, and so I will continue to read what you post, but at the core of it... I'm COMPLETELY selfish. That DICKWAD would rather see me dead... so... I'm "anti".

hopefully you'll take no offense to this
