War Poll Shows Disproval
08.21.06 (7:28 am)   [edit]

In a recent poll conducted by CNN, 60 percent of Americans oppose the U.S. war in Iraq and a majority would support a partial withdrawal of troops by year's end. The telephone survey showed 61 percent believed at least some U.S. troops should be withdrawn from Iraq by the end of 2006.

I personally did not receive a phone call to vote in this recent poll. If I would have, I too would have voted in opposition to the war in Iraq, and a troop withdrawal by year's end. This war in my opinion has gone on for too long and many have no idea what the cause is anymore. Our troops are on over-extended missions and many are growing more and more tired and restless. The pressure these troops are under is causing them to murder innocent Iraqi civilians. It is time for these troops to come back home where they belong.

My question to you would be: If you received that phone call, how would you have voted? What would you have told them? Are you in favor of the war, or are you against it? Are you for a troop withdrawal, or would you like to see the U.S. stay for the long haul without a time set?

I too am against the war but I am not for an immediate pull out. I think a slow and steady pull out would be a better course of action to take. I do honor your opinion regardless of our disagreement.

even an immediate pull out taking effect today will take atleast 6 months to a year. a slower thinning out may take six yrs. which again will not only be a burden on US economy but will aslo see more casualties, morre terrorism world over, more threats to US and her allies in war against terror.
