posted by: inkspector (reply) post date: 08.23.06 (6:17 am) You know, teachers are required to take Character and Citizen CEUs (continuing educational units/credits) in many states in order to keep their licenses. This sort of activity defies that. Maybe a short known protest film/news feature would have been better and safer. There was plenty other ways to get through to these students than by actually burning a flag inside a classroom. The point could have been made by like you mentioned a video or by just telling them to imagine a mob burning a flag on the street. |
