Mutiny Aboard Airline
08.30.06 (9:34 am)   [edit]

Two Asian students were kicked off a flight from Malaga to Manchester because other passengers feared they were suicide bombers.  The two Asians, both 22, said they sympathized with nervous travelers, but urged people not to be paranoid about Muslims.  The pair were marched of the jet at gunpoint after fellow passengers alerted officials on the flight back from Spain.  The passengers, alarmed at the men's behavior, demanded that the air staff remove them from the plane.  Cabin crew informed Spanish authorities of the passengers' fears and the men were taken off the Monarch Airlines flight.  Some passengers stormed off the aircraft and refused to fly unless the pair were removed.  The Asians were questioned by officers for several hours, but then put up in a hotel and allowed to fly back to the UK later that day.

It is shame in my eyes that this had to happen.  It is a shame that we as Americans are lumping all Muslims into the classification of terrorist.  Not all Muslims are terrorists.  Only a small few of Muslims actually want to commit terrorist acts against the United States.  Most of these men are fairly decent and would just like to live in America and do like you and me and make a living for themselves.  We cannot discriminate against everyone with middle-eastern descent.  Let's start acting civilized and give some of these people the respect and decency they deserve.

Why must people be so stupid? I feel so bad for those students. If the people who got off the flight and wouldn't fly with the students on board, the plane should have just left the other passengers there. Stupidity is not an excuse for such bad behavior.
