Barack Obama Considers Run for Presidency
10.23.06 (9:50 am)   [edit]

 Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.)

United States Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.) said he has thought about running for president in 2008 but will give it more serious consideration after the mid-term congressional elections.

Senator Obama is being considered one of the most powerful political figures of the Democratic party.  If he would decide not to run for president in 2008, it would be a shame to the Democratic party and a let down to the country.  Senator Obama is less than two years into his first term in the U.S. Senate.  He has previously stated that he plans to serve out his entire six-year term in the Senate.  When he said this he had no idea just how great of a politician he would become.

Time magazine named Obama one of "the world's most influential people."  In an article in the British journal, Obama is listed as one of the "10 people who could change the world."

Senator Obama just recently published his second book entitled "The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream".  This is Senator Obama's second book to have been published, which is preceeded by "Dreams from My Father".

I have a strong belief that Senator Obama will announce his run for the presidency after the mid-term elections.  It would be ashame for him not to considering how influential and strong a politician he is.  Watch for him to be a real contender for United States President in 2008.

Just watch out for him in 2008. I have a feeling he is going to be strong and might get the nominee.

By the way, this great Senator is Obama, not osama. Get it right next time!

I suspect he may be an attractive alternative to the likes of Kerry and Clinton, who sem to me be elicit a frown instead of a smile. Personally I don't know if Obama is a moderate or liberal. Since he had no real opposition in his Senate run, his positions on the issues were not examined. But I'd listen to him, even though it would take a lot to convince me to vote for a Democrat.

Maybe he and Lieberman could run upon an Independent ticket.

Well PastorDave, Obama isn't as liberal as most but he certainly isn't a conservative Democrat if that's what you were hoping for. He is a great politicial however. He will be appearing on the Alan Colmes radio show (catch Alan on the foxnews website under radio from 9 to midnight CT) this Tuesday, October 24th. This will no doubtly be a great interview. Actually I may record it and have to put a link to it on my blog if anyone is interested.

Thank you for your comment Pastor. They are always welcomed and very respected.
