Honestly, there ought to be more of this going on in our legislation. IF Barron mouthed off, he deserved it. Call it a variation on Heinlein's "A well-armed society is a polite society." "The fight came on the final day of the 2007 regular session of the Legislature as Republican senators were using delaying tactics to force the Democratic leadership to bring up an election reform bill to ban transfers of campaign donations between political action committees. Republican senators and a few dissent Democrats have been using delaying tactics in the Senate all session to protest Senate rules formed by the Democratic majority that the minority coalition says are unfair." You did'nt see the senator punch Chenny in the side of head did you? As you say if you mouth off lyou deserve it! Also the GOP guy does'nt know how to fight, he did'nt even put his shoulder into the punch, it's like a girl punch. Of course, Cheney would have probably cleaned Leahy's clock, but like they say, mess with the bull...you get the horns. Would have been worth watching. Haven't seen the actual video, so I can't speak as to how feminine his punch was. Hey, maybe Dick Cheney could conduct a seminar. Anyway, where I come from telling someone to go fuck themselves isn't quite as severe as insulting one's mother. Them old guys don't tolerate that as much as the younger ones might. |
