Presidental Candidate Quiz
06.15.07 (8:19 am)   [edit]

Below is a link to a quiz that will take your political beliefs and match you to the 2008 Presidental Candidate that matches your beliefs best.  It shows what percentage of the candidates' issues you match.  The quiz takes maybe 3 minutes to complete and is very easy and comprehensive.  Enjoy!

63% - Duncan Hunter
60% - Tom Tancredo
58% - Sam Brownback
45% - John McCain, Mike Huckabee
43% - Jim Gilmore
40% - Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani
10% - Barack Obama, Dennis Kucinich (DAMN STRAIGHT!)

I was opposed to all of the items under "Individual Rights." (oh, so you're opposed to Individual Rights, fascist?)

Under "Domestic Issues" I supported Death Penalty, gun ownership, privatizing Social Security, school vouchers, church welfare programs, and I Opposed Three Strikes, federally funded health care, alternative fuels, and drug use laws.

I supported decreasing taxation on the wealthy, and expanding free trade, and opposed illegal immigrants earning citizenship.

I supported increased defense spending and stricter limits on campaign funds, and opposed the "Patriot Act harms individual liberties" and replacing US troops with UN troops.

Obviously this is a leftist website, because their explanations on "Strongly oppose," "oppose," "support," etc. are just canned arguments from a liberal point of view.

For instance, the website says that in "Strongly opposing teaching moral standards in Public Schools," I feel "Separation of church and state precludes allowing school prayer. It also precludes other aspects of religion in schools, such as posting the Ten Commandments in public places. We should not violate the Constitutional principle in this case." I am more inline with the "support" definition, "We need to teach values in our schools. The more our children are exposed to prayer, the Ten Commandments, and other traditional values, the better off they are." I simply that it is my responsibility to do this for my child, not the government's.

In supporting churches providing welfare services, it says that I believe "Replace the federal welfare system with services provided by churches and other faith-based organizations. Supply block grants to those organizations instead of funding welfare agencies." I believe that "welfare" should be handled by private charities and that no government money should be involved at all, not even grant money.

In strongly opposing the the enforcement of drug laws, its says that I believe "The Drug War should be ended. It has failed, condemning a 'Lost Generation' of blacks and Hispanics to prison and criminal records. End it now like we ended alcohol Prohibition, and organized crime and drug-related crime will decrease like it did when Prohibition ended." I don't think that the Drug War has condemned anyone to prison, that "Lost Generation" did it to themselves. I DO feel that drug use is immoral but I believe that if a person chooses to do so, that is not the type of behavior that needs to be criminally punished. I think the choice to use drugs, while idiotic, is a victim-less crime. With jail space as limited in America as it is, there's no sense in locking up some pothead for growing weed in his backyard when we have to worry about finding room for rapists, child molesters, murders and other criminals.

73% Kucinich
70% Gravel
65% Clinton/Obama
58% Edwards
25% Giuliani
20% McCain
15% Romney
8% Tancredo
3% Huckabee

I don't quite understand some of these, especially the Clinton thing. I can only assume she says a decent amount of things that I agree with, but I don't believe she really has those in mind. She's slimy, and Obama isn't all sunshine and lollipops the way people seem to think he is.

I've been with Gravel since damn near the start, and he hasn't done anything to let me down yet.
